In January 2022, St. Joe County Public Library (SJCPL) established an annual charge of $50 to our Mishawaka patrons. In response, on January 20, 2022, the Board of Trustees of the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library moved to reciprocate St. Joe County Public Library’s decision to introduce a $50 fee to MPHPL patrons.

When renovations finished in 2018, MPHPL Director Donna Meeks recalls that Roland Morin, a longtime serving board member, insisted that the bunny statue return and be part of the new children’s area. “It was important to him that the tradition be continued and we were more than happy to honor his wishes,” said Meeks.

Heritage Room at Mishawaka Library Opens Monday, October 25
The Heritage Room at the downtown Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library will open on Monday, October 25, 2021. The doors were closed to the room in March of 2020, and Monday will be the first time that library-goers will be able to step foot back in the room, which has a new name and a new purpose.
Renovated Common Area at Mishawaka Library Reopens
