
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is pleased to offer access to the revamped Mishawaka Memories Digital Archive.
Mishawaka Memories Digital Archive offers photographs, letters and other digitized media related to Mishawaka’s history and beyond. Anyone, anywhere – anytime can explore the MPHPL Mishawaka Memories Digital Archive, by visiting https://cdm17513.contentdm.oclc.org/.
“Our repository now houses over 400 digitized photos, featuring Mishawaka materials such as local fire departments and bridges. Visitors are welcome to explore our collections or enter a search term, subject, or name and relevant materials will be displayed accordingly,” said MPHPL Adult Services Coordinator Ashley Kelly.
Collections will be expanded and enhanced over time, and additional collections will be added as time and resources permit.
Initially, the Mishawaka Memories Digital Archive features the following six collections.
Bridges
- Mishawaka historic bridges photographs, postcards and information.
Civil War Letters
- Letters from soldiers on the front lines to their family and friends.
MPHPL
- The history of the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library.
Civil War Photographs
- Local U.S. Civil War photographs.
Vincent Brunner
- Photos, pamphlets and unpublished manuscript by Vincent Brunner (1862-1946), Mishawaka’s first official historian.
Mishawaka Fire Departments
- Photographs of the history of the Mishawaka Fire Department.
