The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library has received an American Rescue Plan Act ARPA grant for $26,050 to purchase eBooks and eAudiobooks.
Director Donna Meeks said, “Continuity of service is of the utmost importance to MPHPL. When all three MPHPL locations closed during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the library could still offer digital services, most notably our collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks. After reopening, usage of digital materials continued to grow as patrons embraced the ease of access.”
The purchase of eBooks and eAudiobooks was supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act, administered by the Indiana State Library. MPHPL is now better equipped to meet the increased demand for digital materials. Wait times are reduced for MPHPL cardholders due to the availability of additional copies of popular titles, and hold requests are processed more efficiently due to the enhanced depth of our online collection.
