Mishawaka Library Partners with the South Bend Area Genealogical Society to Host First-ever Scan-a-Thon

On Saturday, Nov. 13, Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library, in partnership with the South Bend Area Genealogical Society, will host a Scan-a-Thon at the downtown Mishawaka Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public is encouraged to bring in a few physical documents or photos that they would like digitized. Our MPHPL staff, along with South Bend Area Genealogical Society employees and volunteers, are excited to hold this inaugural Scan-a-Thon! The four-hour event will be held in the Eisen Room on the lower level of the Mishawaka Library. Several methods of scanning will be demonstrated, and multiple scanners will be set up to get guests started on their digitizing journey.

No registration is required and no prior knowledge of scanning is needed.

The South Bend Area Genealogical Society was established in 1976. The organization aims to preserve local genealogical and historical data. Their mission is to not only preserve, but to serve as a resource to access these important records. They serve South Bend, Mishawaka and the surrounding areas. For more information about the South Bend Area Genealogical Society, visit their website or Facebook Page.
