Battle of the Books is Back!
Battle of the Books competition will be held on Saturday, March 27 from 9:30 - 11:30 am via Zoom.
Battle of the Books is back in 2021! Battle is a book trivia contest for kids in grades 5-6 sponsored by the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library. All events will be virtual including book reveal, Managers' meeting & Battle day.
Team Registration begins Monday, January 4
Team registration takes place at all three Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library locations or the online registration form. Participants form their own teams of 1-6 kids and they read six pre-selected books. Due to the pandemic, we are being flexible with teams this year. Please determine what size of team, method of practicing, etc. to meet your own comfort needs. Team members can be from the same school, several different schools, or homeschoolers. Team managers must be the ones to sign up the team and attend the team managers' metting via Zoom. Team registration will continue until Saturday, January 30 OR until a limit of 25 teams has been reached. Online registration is encouraged.
Book Reveal (See Below) & Book Pick Up Begins on Saturday, January 9 at 10 am via MPHPL Facebook Live/MPHPL YouTube Channel
Title Reveal will take place at 10 am via the MPHPL Facebook Live and the MPHPL YouTube Channel (mphpl.org/youtube). One set of the six Battle of the Books titles will be provided to each team and will be available to pick up starting on January 9 during library hours. Please indicate your pick up location on your registration form. Only the team manager will be able to checkout a set of books for their team.
Team Managers' Meeting on Monday, January 25 at 6:30 pm via Zoom
Managers' meeting will take place via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to registered managers prior to the event. Managers will receive rules and procedures about the virtual Battle of the Books along with tips to help your team study and prepare.
The last day of Team Registration is Saturday, January 30
Last day to sign up unless 25 team limit has been reached.
