Learn about the Holocaust through Students’ Artwork and Creative Writing
MPHPL is proud to partner with The Kurt and Tessye Simon Fund for Holocaust Remembrance to host The People Next Door: Witnessing the Holocaust, a student art and creative writing contest. An Exhibition Opening and Awards Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 5 to 6:45 p.m. at the downtown Mishawaka Library.
Sarah Holmes and Mary Nicolini Appointed to the MPHPL Board of Trustees
The Mishawaka Penn-Harris Public Library is excited to officially welcome Sarah Holmes and Mary Nicolini to the MPHPL Board of Trustees! Holmes was appointed by the St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners, and the Penn-Harris-Madison School Board appointed Nicolini.
Free Radon Kits Available at MPHPL for St. Joseph County Residents
MPHPL has partnered with the St. Joseph County Department of Health to help spread the word about their important Radon-Free Homes Initiative. Residents can visit any MPHPL location during operating hours to pick up a free radon test kit at the front desk, courtesy of the St. Joseph County Department of Health.
Free Income Tax Assistance at Downtown Mishawaka Library
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) volunteers will be available at the downtown Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library, 209 Lincolnway East, on Tuesdays from February 4 to April 15. Through the VITA Program, individuals and families with an annual household income of $64,000 or less can file their 2024 taxes for free.

The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is pleased to announce the promotion of Jennifer Bowman to the position of Maintenance Manager. Bowman began her career at the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library in August 2024 as a Maintenance Technician.
MPHPL Janna McLean Receives ILF Esther Schlundt Memorial Scholarship
Janna McLean, a Library Associate at the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library, is one of three recipients across the state this year to be awarded an Indiana Library Federation $1,000 Esther Schlundt Memorial Scholarship.

MPHPL Annual Local Author Fair for Adults Tuesday, December 3
The third annual Local Author Fair will take place at the downtown Mishawaka Library from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 3. The event allows writers and readers of adult fiction and non-fiction to connect.
