MPHPL Is Excited To Announce the Promotion of Thomas Vorenkamp
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is pleased to announce the promotion of Thomas Vorenkamp to the position of Information Technology Manager. Vorenkamp began his career with Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library in February 2022 as a System Support Specialist. Since February 2023, he has served as the Interim IT Manager.
19th Annual River Bend Quilt Show at Mishawaka Library Aug. 24-26
The River Bend Quilt Guild will be hosting their 19th annual Quilt Show at the downtown Mishawaka Library over a three-day period starting Thursday, Aug. 24. The public is invited to attend free of charge during the following days and hours: Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
MPHPL Receives NIPSCO Energy Efficiency Incentive Rebate
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library received an energy efficiency incentive rebate from Northern Indiana Public Service Company LLC (NIPSCO) for energy-efficient projects recently conducted at the library’s three locations.
MPHPL Is Part of the Indiana Library Passport Program
The Indiana Library Passport (ILP) is a free, mobile-friendly literacy program that enters library visitors into prize drawings when they use the program’s geo-location check-in service.
The program is sponsored by the Indiana State Library and encourages people to visit Indiana libraries and learn historical facts about libraries across the state.
The People Next Door – Witnessing the Holocaust
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is honored to host the exhibition for this year’s The People Next Door student art and creative writing contest. This annual contest provides Michiana high school students an opportunity to hear the stories of Michiana’s own Holocaust survivors, then creatively respond to their experiences in an original work of art or creative writing.
All MPHPL Locations Are National Safe Place Stations
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is proud that all of our library locations are Youth Service Bureau (YSB) of St. Joseph County Safe Stations! Currently there are 22,097 Safe Place Stations across the country.
MPHPL Staff Changes

Now is the time to get get the Libby app! April 2023, the OverDrive app will be discontinued. MPHPL encourages you to make the switch to Libby, our newer reading app immediately. Libby is made by the same company, with the same goal of connecting you to our library and to your favorite eBooks, eAudiobooks and magazines.
